Interview with a Special Guest: Jackson Crawford

Following a Saga-ful Summer, with the release of our multi-part Saga of the Volsungs and re-release the Saga of Ragnar Lothbrok, we sit down to speak with one of the people who make Saga adaptations possible, Jackson Crawford.

Jackson Crawford is an academic, translator and poet who specializes in Old Norse. He has a YouTube channel focused on Old Norse language, literature and mythology, with over 700 videos and 270k subscribers. He’s recently worked as an Old Norse language and runes consultant on major projects such as Ubisoft Montréal’s Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and Disney’s Frozen.

We speak to Jackson about the importance of translating Old Norse texts, some of the more nonsensical elements of the Saga of the Volsungs, and his next project!
